new trainer type not working

the newer type of trainer (the one with the cheat status) wont work for me.
(says game is on)
(most recent version of no mans sky)
(steam copy)
(running win 10 and have tried the "fix")
i turn on the trainer with the game running (it used to work with the older type) and no cheats will activate
