Trainer query not answered

First timer here. First up, big up to Mr antifun for these trainers. They re great helps to many gamers i am sure. So here my question. I have an older version of a game. And thus downloaded the older version of its trainer. Will it work? Second, how do you get them to work? For example. God mode is F1, but on my laptop, the button is also the mute button and will do so. so what to do? Hoping someone here can help a guy out
