Trainers not activating?

My trainer for RAGE 2 won't activate; it sounds like its stuck in some kind of sticky keys mode.

can someone explain why sometimes all cheats work and sometimes none do? i get the error beep for the exact same game version and trainer. last night all are working great, now all i get are error beeps.

I experienced this with MrAntiFun's Metro 2033 Redux trainer. In my case, it was because I launched the trainer before the game (derp).
Launch the game first then launch the trainer.
If the game and trainer launch shortcuts are in the same place (ie Desktop) you can do this quickly without having to alt-tab out of the game to open the trainer.
It's best to launch the trainer as an administrator (right-click the trainer > Properties > Compatibility > tick Run This Program as Administrator > Apply).

Also, make sure that you add the trainer as an exception in your anti-virus before you launch it. Otherwise, your anti-virus can falsely identify it as a threat and block it from running (or even quarantine/delete it/part of it).
