Apparently only specific trainers won't work. So far the only one that I haven't managed to get working is the Infested Planet one.

I did. Tried on win7 compatibility, the trainer opened a blank cmd window, and stuck there until it gave an error, and then opened the trainer, and the trainer detected the game running, but the trainer didn't work. Then on win8, the trainer started, the game was detected, but still didn't work...
