    I have decided to embark on a massive project that will keep me busy for the next year or more, creating an UltraHD texture pack for various Doom source ports.

    when finished the first pack will be for the Risen3D port, as Risen3D has Sky-Boxes.

    EDIT: I have been working on Sky textures as my skills have been developing, I am leaving the most difficult textures for last so that by then, I will have further developed my skills to make them.

    I am teaching myself as I go along.


    After I create a set of Sky textures I will format them for other ports like DoomsDay (jDoom) and GZdoom.

    The GZdoom port version will also have BrightMaps made for and/or from the corresponding textures so lit areas stay lit, regardless of the ambient lighting level of the room the textures are used in.

    Here is a link to my DeviantArt Doom Texture Folder. Click on the corresponding texture to view. Click on the viewed Texture again to Zoom to the actual resolution (If your monitor's resolution is less than 3840x2160).

    I will update the folder as often as I can.

    UPDATE 1:
    Deviantart page has been updated as of the 8th of November 2016 (Australian date)

    One image I flagged as containing mature content as it has blood stains on it. Age verification may be needed to view that texture.

    I will need to flag some future textures as mature content, as they will either have blood and gore or (Because this is for Doom) will have textures that have Doom's satanic theme, and as such are considered sensitive material. (I wish to abide by DeviantArt's Policy regarding sensitive material that may offend some people).

    Filter Forge 4
    Paint Shop Pro 8 (For conversion to source port accepted .PNG files)
    Windows Paint (For tiling tests)

    UPDATE 2: I have updated versions of the textures presented in this thread in my Deviantart repository. My Deviantart page is constantly being updated, but as I am teaching myself as I go along, I am also updating older textures in addition to creating new ones.

    My goal is to create the best possible texture pack that I can. I am hoping when this is completed I can use it as a portfolio to transfer my career from the Graphic Design I work at to a Game Development studio, in the future.

    My latest texture. The Elevator Platform. this texture took quite some time and required a lot of effort. it is 2048x2048. If your monitor is less than 4k you wiull need to click on the image to view full size as it would be larger than your screen, and has to zoom out to not break the forum layout.

    I have also experimented with dead grass (completely dead grass that liiks like hay) and dying grass (which looks like either herbicide was spilled on it, or my dog urinated on it)

    Here is a test shot of some of my latest textures. Keep in mind it's only the nukage floor, the pipe walls and the pipe walls with nukage spraying from the damaged pipes, that are mine. I have not yet replaced the other textures so they are having the current DHTP as placeholders untill they can be replaced by shiny new 2K ones.

    This is a Comparison animation between GZdoom with Vanilla Textures scaled to 4xBRZ, and my WIP UltraHD Textures. It should change btween modes every 2 or so seconds, with a fade in/out transition.

    This is a large image so the first run through may be slow depending on your connection speed. If this is the case let it run through 1 or two times to see if it performs better after.
