I'm playing V 2.5.1 and the mrantifun trainer works fine for me. Don't forget to inform the trainer programm in the upper right corner, that the game ist running. For example with drag&drop your prg-icon into the playing box.

Thank you very much. What a nice game. (Start the game, start and activate the trainer, exit the trainer, save your game, exit game, restart it, load your savegame. now you are rich and your opponents aren't. :) )
