You may be playing against a really, really infuriatingly tough opponent online in Mortal Kombat X, but it's not advised to quit the match in a fit of rage.

Speaking during their livestream today, developers at NetherRealm studios explained how they plan to punish rage quitters: Quitalities. And yes, it fits nicely with Mortal Kombat's penchant for gore.

"If you quit, your head blows up and the other guy wins," they simply stated.
In case you'd like to maintain a decent average, it sounds like you might be better off sticking out even the toughest fights.

Mortal Kombat releases on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on April 14. It was recently delayed into the summer on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Along with this rage quit announcement, more details about game modes were announced today.

Mortal Kombat X 'Kustom Kombat' Mode Revealed
By Chloi Rad-IGN
Not only was Test Your Luck confirmed and demonstrated in NetherRealm's Mortal Kombat X stream today, but an entirely new game mode called Kustom Kombat was revealed.
You also get to choose which modifiers affect you and which ones affect just your opponent, or both. That's four total modifiers active in each match.

Some of these modifiers include Ice Rockets, Killer Jumps, Dashing Disabled, Bleeding, Buff Up, X-Ray Instakill, Ground Mines, and more.

Players can unlock modifiers by playing Living Tower matches or exploring the Krypt.
Test Your Luck was also shown off during the stream, with modifiers like Electric Fists, Magnetic Floor, Double Damage, Infinite Timer, and Portal Kombat demonstrated.

We knew Test Your Luck would be included after a list of Xbox achievements for Mortal Kombat X was leaked. We also knew something called Kustom Kombat would be a feature, but we had no idea what it was until now.
