Same happens to me. I ended up just running ahead and skiped them. Later on i found that explosion power allowed me to kill them without crashing.

Awesome, works like a charm! Might be a bit late. But if possible to include an option for faster Challenge Completion. Trying to complete those with over a dozen characters is a time sink.
