I do, extract it out of the archive container file first before trying to run it. Exectuables either don't run at all or run very flaky from within compressed archive containers.

It will only work for vanilla scenarios, if the scenario requires one or more of the expansion packs, you need to use the trainer appropriate for that expansion pack, and if it requires both expansion packs, you use Brave New World version of the trainer.
