After its announcement at CES last month, AMD have revealed the new ultra-quiet Wraith CPU is now available for purchase. They’ve also detailed models and prices regarding the processors and motherboards we’ll see in 2016.

Larger than the previous AMD stock cooler, the 125W Wraith also has a larger fan that spins continuously. This in turn keeps noise levels at a minimum to which AMD say: “the new design delivers 34 percent more airflow and 24 percent more surface area for heat dissipation than its predecessor.” Wraith will only ship with a single processor - the FX-8370, eight-core, 4GHz CPU at $200 - but should keep sound levels capped at a pleasant 39 decibels.
AMD also have three new processors incoming: the A10-7860K, the A6-7470K, and the Athlon X4 845. The A10 costs $118, has a GPU frequency of 757MHz, eight GPU cores, and, different to other similarly devised processors, has a reduced TDP class from 95W to 65W.
The AMD Athlon X4 845 is the first desktop processor to use AMD’s Excavator CPU architecture and is designed for use with a discrete graphics card. It also has a TDP class of 65W and will cost $70, but won’t have onboard graphics capabilities.
Lastly, AMD will also be replacing the stock coolers on the following:
  • AMD A8-7670K - $104.99
  • AMD A8-7650K - $94.99
  • AMD Athlon X4 870K - $89.99
  • AMD Athlon X4 860K - $79.99
