Current trainer still works fine after game update this is more a feature update request. There are other trainers out there but tbh I never really trust them whereas I've never had issues with any of your trainers.
There are many feature request ideas in the original trainer thread however, a few we would all love to see are;
1. Control over Oil resource
2. Control over individual resources
3. Finer control over money, influence, production, morale, happiness etc
