Been having issues all day with my computer. normally no issues with CE. Today they just freeze up and fail to respond as soon as I activate. Tomb Raider, Mad Max, even Company of heroes (which normally just shut the game and cheat engine down). I even downloaded the core cheqat engine itself but to no avail... just stopped responding. Any thoughts on how to fix this?

well here is my only common sense approach answer if you feel you have exhausted all other options you can think of check and see if you have a recent system restore point if you do first make a save point where your at now then try the most recent system restore point and see if that fixes your problem if not then restore it back to the newest =the one you made and look for other answers

Agreed... If only Windows 10 allowed that! It hasn't got any restore points (less than a month old). To be honest I think something is definitely wrong with the computer in general. I'm going to reinstall windows as I can't even reset the PC to factory settings, see if that helps. Also trying on ym other desktop to see if the problem persists...

Have you tried deactivating antivirus in case you blocked it by mistake? Also try moving it to a different folder or hard drive as sometimes the location becomes corrupt. If I think of anything else I will let you know. Good luck

If you have a file hiding program like folderlock for example, windows 10 has a hissy fit with this so if you have any of those I would uninstall as well, hope you get sorted as usually it is something simple but finding it is sooooo frustrating and when you do its usually "why did I not think of that" lol, Getting ccleaner and doing a clean up of the registry is also a good idea if you have not tried that. It is free and really good to clean junk out.

I'd cleaned the registry and done all the basics I could think of. I only have the bare bones installed programwise. It all works fine on my PC so its something simple no doubt... But yeah...totally frustrating. The fact I can't reset the PC tho suggests it could be a windows installation issue. It wont even shut down!

did you let any programs to update today(for example windows update, drivers update and much more)?
for some reason i suspect either CPU or RAM were overclocking while searching values, toggle scripts or anything related which cause freeze i dunno, can't solving without knowing specifically info, can you tell your PC specs?in mean time try to use different bites(64 and 32-bit) and give a reinstall if problem still persist then try rollback to previous cheat engine version.

Well, I managed to get on the laptop and....everything is working again... I really have no idea why it didn't just yeterday NOTHING loaded. It was as if the computer was on strike. Nothing new downloaded, nothing taken off since i left it yesterday... it even turns off now... I'm utterly confused by this.

Actually someone suggested that I clean out the laptop on another site so I popped it in the dishwasher. That may have been what did it.
