This GOG winter sale looks intense: 500 games at reduced prices. Games with 90% discounts. $3 'mystery' games that usually sell for $34.99. Free games eanred by buying other games. A never-ending tide of games, gushing over your quivering body, washing away all that was there before and leaving only discounted RPGs and indies you've been meaning to get around to in their wake.

The sale begins today and runs untl 1.59 PM GMT on 13th December, and I think it's fair to say there are going to be some deals. Today's alone include The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (-50%), Divinity: Original Sin Enhanced Edition (-33%), Kerbal Space Program (-40%), STASIS (-50%), Rebel Galaxy (-33%), Victor Vran (-50%), Grandia II (-50%), Metro 2033 Redux & Last Light Redux (-75%) and more.

A Star Wars classics bundle accompanies those individual titles. In it, you'll get the X-Wing & TIE Fighter series, Galactic Battlegrounds Saga, Knights of the Old Republic I + II, Battlefront II and others, discounted by up to 77%.

The Lucasfilm classic bundle, with up to 75% off, includes Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, Sam & Max Hit the Road, Outlaws, The Secret of Monkey Island, and more.

Those deals are available for the first 48 hours of GOG's Winter sale, whereupon a new batch will replace them for a 24-hour window, then a new batch again, and so on.

There are also 'mystery' games available for $3: "There will be 50+ different games to start, each worth between $9.99 and $34.99," say GOG, "with an assortment of fun surprises added throughout the promotion. These games won't be part of the regular sale lineup, and unowned games will be prioritized."

Finally, you can earn free games by spending money on other, merely cheap, games. Spend $5 and you'll get a free copy of Divine Divinity, and drop $50 to secure a gratis copy of, er... Blackguards: Special Edition.

Head over to to get stuck in.
