Seem infinite ammo is for plasma gun only, once I switch to the other weapon it is not 999 anymore

With the F1 key you change weapon and switch off trainer function at the same time.
It is useful to re-define trainer keys, for example to Numeric 0, 1, 2, and 3 (instead of F1, F2, F3 and F4). I use the trainer that way.
