Open World Games - Recommendations

Hey lads, lasses, elves, splicers, Assassins and Dovahkiins.

I was wondering - what are the best (in your opinion) open-world games out there and why do you recommend it?
I'm aware that the definition of "best" depends on each individual's personal opinion, I'm interested to hear those.

The Elder Scrolls and Fallout series are obvious ones. What other ones are out there?

ELEX, just played it. Good stuff. WeMod has a trainer and it helps with some of the grindy-er aspects of the of the Pirahna Bytes unforgiving combat and lvling system. I mean, if you haven't yet, check out Grim Dawn, the shadows LOTR games (both are great), Watch Dog series (WD 2 is 5 bucks on EPIC right now), Fallout New Vegas (but try all the fallouts), and so much more. I will be starting on Watch Dogs 2 (one was great), The Division, The Witcher 2, and Wildlands this summer, so I am looking forwards to having a fun time. Hope this helps!
