the game crashes after some time, how can i fix it?

**i got the soultion from the steam community:

1) open notepad and copy and paste the following text:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\SteamPopCap\PlantsVsZombies]
"ScreenMode"=dword:00000000

2) save this text in notepad as "fix.reg" in some folder of your preference

3) go to that folder and then double click (open) "fix.reg". It will ask you to make changes to your system registry.

4) Then you can go to Steam and start Plants vs. Zombies , without crashing!

Oddly enough not sure why but it crashes the game a lot. I open it first crashes, Open it after, Crashes, I've tried opening it when in a game, it crashes. Even if I never activate any of the cheats. Ideas?

Any plans for an Origin friendly update? All I get is the ding whenever I use the old or the new, and I've already made sure defender was disabled.
