There's health, money, shi which is the form of magic in the game which I think each element has its own separate value, there is also a "tension" meter which is for super moves. There are also resources which I believe must be acquired in order to make equipment, you can buy potions but under the barter section is the only place you can make equipment, at least from what I have seen so far in the game.
