I just tried it again and it doesn't seem to work. Usually when the villagers bring the resources back into the barn it automatically gives a large amount of the collected resource. I just got the new version 1.0.6197.

Current reources cheat doesn't give any extra resources of what you have , It prevents the resources from decreasing .
