I thought the same thing about the first boss but after I lost I went back to the same area and there's a quest giver that gave me a powerful potion as a reward to use during the boss fight. It seemed a LOT easier the second time around. (The quest had me looking for a lost friend and digging through garbage cans)
A trainer would be GREAT!

That potion didn't help me. Died 15 times at that boss now. I'm lvl 13. So now I'm waiting for a trainer.
