Sid Meier Civilization VI Trainer

I can't toggle between Civ 6 and my standard desktop view to boot the Trainer. Only way I can get back to desktop is by exiting the game. Probably a rookie mistake, any suggestions on what to do?

Assuming ALT-TAB isn't working, you can try using Task Manager with CTRL-ALT-DELETE in order to enable task switching. You can also try setting your video to windowed mode in the game can let you do what you need to do.

Go to Options -> Graphics -> select "Borderless Window" under Window Mode. That works for me.

the game is just crashes to desktop when using new trainer

The only time I've seen that is when moving an Archaeologist after Excavate Artifact. You need to wait for the choose artifact pop-up before moving. I always move the architects last, just before next turn.
