Hi, i have the same problem, so maybe anyone know a solution.

I SOLVE IT

1. go to My Documents -> My Games -> SteamWorld Dig and open file controls.cfg with notepad
2. go find section # cheats and change everyone function keys to a F9,F10,F11,F12, (another in trainer)
3. open trainer
4.open game
5.activate trainer and switch on ur cheats
6. deactivate a trainer and close game
7. open the game without trainer , get a level and be happy with urs upgrades

No.this isnt fix. ONLY FIX : DONT TURN ON INFINITE ITEMS IN GAME!!!! IT WIL CAUSE BIFF AND ACE DISSAPEAR!!!
