Trainers not activating?

I've found a very silly solution to the "error tone" problem; run the program/game in "windowed" mode before opening and activating the trainer. Once the "trainer activated" sound plays, you can switch back to full-screen and use the cheats' shortcuts (I believe) as you normally would. I can't confirm if a "borderless windowed" mode also fixes the problem. This worked on five trainers with the "error tone bug", for five very different games.

Again, making sure your Trainer version and Game version line up is an absolute must.

I don't know what happened one time all the trainers here worked. Now none of them do, I have tried everything from the faq. It is upsetting me cause of my inability to get this to work.

Same here, always enjoyed the trainers from here, and now they are not working with just the 'bing' playing when I try to activate them

All MAF's trainers work fine for me .. Windows 10 creators edition/ Windows 7 .. I always have AV off .. Run my games in windowed mode .. Run trainer as admin .. Make sure that .exe file name is the same .. And a partridge in a pear tree ..

PS if windows/ the game has been updated it can cause the trainer to stop working ..

Same issue, none of MAF's trainers work anymore. They used to work just fine, now...click, and nothing loads/runs.

Same here. I loved the trainers here. They always worked. Now none of them I tried are working. Only the *ding* sound or they simply not responding anymore.

Same problem here.
I haven't used a trainer in a while and wanted to use one for Prey.
Nothing but windows tone for every button press.
Newest version of the game and newest version of the trainer.
I will restart the game and such to try out different ideas, but this is a rather serious problem to have with no clear solution.

Same here for me, all i hear is a error noise when i try to activate a cheat in the Borderlands trainer. Then it simply says 'Could not activate the cheat!'
Wish i knew how to fix this, but for now i must keep surfing the internet to find a fix, if i find a fix, i'll reply here with the fix i found. But i can't guarantee it'll work for other trainers and if i'll be able to find something. If someone finds a fix, please reply with it here. It would be aprecciated (Sorry for my bad English, still learning stuff. My main language isn't English so it should make sense.)

same, I'm not sure if it's because of my f-keys but I have a same kinda proplem, it works one night then the next night I can't even turn on the trainer(you know, the main thing you have to do) I'm not sure if it's because the trainers I use are from 2013-2015 but that might be the case.

This is now happening to me for Civ 6 gathering storm. Windows defender is off. The trainers are all freezing/unresponsive. It takes 10 seconds to say "cheat activated" and the trainer goes unresponsive for those 10 seconds. Then, when 'activated,' it doesn't work. I don't understand...

Run both the game (steam) and trainer in administrator mode. Had this problem with other games as well, but for me this seems to be the solution.
