WeMod available for retail copies?

I have been using MrAntiFun trainers for years now and never had a problem with it but once he joined up with wemod wtf is happening that you can't use a trainer if the game is retail copied? I mean all the time it was fine but it is ridiculous that you have to buy a game on steam in order to use a trainer, it's a shame.

Are there still retail games on PC in stores then? Can't remember that i've seen so far. Steam is a good platform, and you save a lot of space in your house for unneeded junk!
