You do know that a trainer is a program that goes and rewrites data into a second program (the game) while that second program is running? Call me crazy, but that's usually just the sort of Trojan-like activity you'd want your A/V program to warn you about... and it's usually easy enough to deal with. In fact, I automatically add a new trainer to my AV's exception list as soon as I unzip it - either you trust MAF's work or why get his trainers?
Also, on the 'update please' thing, I know for a fact that people will automatically request an update to the trainer after a game updates without even checking to see if the trainer still works or not! Also, it's maddeningly unhelpful because it doesn't tell MAF the actual nature of the problem, whether it's a single (or few) function(s) that no longer work or the entire trainer that's not working and it buries the rare post that does explain the problem among pages of 'update please'. It's like people think MAF has an infinite amount of time to wade through this kind of crap or to specifically test each trainer when there's an update request when dozens of games are updating (not to mention new games coming out) every fracking week!! I have no idea why MAF puts up with it, the guy's obviously got the patience of a saint...
Right - and that's what people should be saying, because none of that is properly conveyed by 'update please'. BTW, I should note that in the donor chat, MAF referenced EUIV as one of the 20 updates he's working on... so he is aware of the situation.Yeah I get what you're saying but.. the trainer doesn't work what so ever because its a full dlc-expansion, its not a minor update that breaks a few things, the trainer itself now doesn't effect the game at all :O
See I assumed he already was working on the update for it, because he has done a pretty good job of keeping up with it so far so there was no reason to actually doubt him....hopefully it gets working in time to stop me from burning my nation down by mistake!!!Right - and that's what people should be saying, because none of that is properly conveyed by 'update please'. I think people add to the whole "update please" just so he knows how many want it, if a game has a -single- person asking for an update then yeah it might not be worth investing time in.. but yes UPDATE PLEASE > also anti-virus stuff -HATES- trainers and cheat engine ._. ignore them
there aint really a need for it, I mean lets look at "ideas guy" achivement, since you have to take a 1/1/1 prov, you will be hard pressed to actually get past 800 points, so the cheats already provided help with achivement getting, but if your just after em for funsies outside of Ironman, Check the workshop you should find plenty (including some that let you boost max idea level to ludicrus levels, example the colonist one lets you have +2 tops, you can get like +10.)Version 1.23 live along with new DLC (Cradle of Civilization) The trainer will need an update to function.
Is it possible to freeze points in the custom nation designer? Could be a pretty cool add-on for the trainer now the exploit that allowed infinite points has been patched.
