1.7 works decently with the new version. Infinite items doesn't work though, And it really takes quite a few seconds before the cheat kicks in.

I just tested the most recent trainer (1.17) against steam version 1.21
All the cheats are working without any issue.

Dont matter to me anymore, it wasnt working so now im using a competitor with more and better features. I love MAF but if he cant bother to check a 10gb game when 8/10 people say there are issues then im glad I spent 80 bucks on Lifetime elsewhere. Obviously each computer is different, Ive been cheating in multiplayer and singleplayer games for years, when a majority of your userbase is saying theres an issue, you normally take a look at each OS, not everyones on Win 10..

Running latest version on 1.21, everything works except inf. items, but I don't know how it should work. Easy crafting works on most of the recipe, some need required tools to work.

you cant heal injuries with god mode on. turn it off to treat injuries.

Do they update the game to make the trainer not work, or is it just a byproduct of the updates?

Darkwolfdemon you're joking right? They update the game because The Long Dark still has things to be added, and to fix bugs. Most games don't want to compete with fixing it so trainers don't work, because it would probably never end. & the only games that truly fight trainers are online games like WoW
